MemberWhenever I go to the repair option on DeadAIM, while AIM is not installed, I get a message that says
RUNDLL
Error loading C:PROGRA~1AIMDeadAIM.ocm
The specified module could not be found.PS~ I was previously having problems with DeadAIM, where it was giving me a different error message related to some .dll file and then kicking me off. Never did I have this message pop up with I ran the repair option though.

Participantit means it cant find the file it needs… if “AIM is not installed” then the folder might have been deleted, meaning it cant use that file path. it would help to know what operating system you have – XP, 98, Me, etc…
i’d suggest uninstalling deadAIM from whereever you have it, but keep the .exe file so you can re-install it later. then make sure you install AIM first, and then DeadAIM after…August 16, 2003 at 9:17 pm #57032Beetle1283
MemberI have XP. My issue is that something is wrong wit DeadAIM somehow. When I go to minimize it I get this error message of somesort. Its annoying but not terrible. I can uninstall and install in any combo possible and nothing gets rid of it.

ParticipantBeetle1283; Just had an idea, try reinstalling AIM in a different directory. like c:Program FilesAOL-AIM and try it. And I’m not sure if you can chose where DeadAIM is installed, but change that if you can. Can you minimize AIM if you have DeadAIM uninstalled?

MemberI had this problem early this morning. All you do is remove deadaim entirely by re opening the deadaim installation file and clicking remove. if you just install a new aim and leave the deadaim sitting there it will stay screwed up. Then install your aim again and then install deadaim again. Everything should run fine after that.
Note: if you have Deadaim 4.0 you will need your serial so make sure you have it…

MemberIf I uninstall DeadAIM and the installation files are just sitting in some folder I don’t have a problem with AIM at all. Thats why it has to be DeadAIM.

MemberWell I tried the method someguy03 mentioned and the same problem exists. I have come to the conclusion that I only wanna beat this problem just so the little turd doesn’t win. I don’t get what is going on here.

MemberWell I think I got it. I apparently had nVidia Desktop Manager on my computer. On jDennis’ site, he mentiones that older versions of DeadAIM had a problem with nVidia. So although I had a newer version and the problem should have been fixed, I disabled nVidia and the problem went away.

The specified module could not be found.whenever u get a RUNDLL error or an error that says its missing a module you can yes reinstall everything but i think that takes to long, just search google for whatever module is missing and download it and put it in the directory thats required (in this case most likely the DeadAIM directory). they have entire websites dedicated to misssing dll and ocx files. this annoience is referred to as DLL Hell.
