ParticipantI could think of a few who don’t like harry potter…like those insane people who think that it’s about devil worship and learning to be a witch *rolls her eyes* Being a pagan myself, I can say with the utmost confidence that Harry Potter is a load of bullpootie. About as real as alice in wonderland.
I nearly forgot though about a book I’m currently reading. There are three stories in this, and they’re not particularly well done but they’re still worth the read. *click click* Gods I can’t remember the author. He was a Baron…or a Count…something like that, very famous in the perverted sexual tales, very twisted, he was in prison for a while, wrote them there…they’re actually very interesting and I think they’re entertaining. When I remember his name I’ll put it up, but right now the book is at my apartment.
I’ve had a thing for Holocaust stories too, my favorite of all time being “Summer of my German Soldier” and “Night” by Elli Wiesel. They’re very thin books I read back in middle school, but oh my goodness they’re lovely. The Sequel to Summer of my German Soldier is good too. *cackles* I guess I just like dark stories, eh? That and I named one of my story/rp characters after Elli’s sister, Tzipora, who he also dedicates the book to.
Also I would love to get my hands on the Borne Series, I’ve always liked Red Dragon (yes, like hanibal lector red dragon), it was infinantly better than the movie. I’d also like to get my claws on a version of Count of Monte Cristo (good flick). I’ve read a few murder non-fiction books, and they’re very interesting, read them for book reports and stuff and they’re really good. Especially unsolved ones. Gosh, maybe I should just tell people to get my gift certificates to Barnes and Noble this year *blink blink*

You’re not the only one. I also enjoy Holocaust stories. Ever since I learned about Anne Frank back in the 5th grade, I’ve always been intrigued. She is also the reason that I write in a journal.
I, too, have read Night[/b] by Elli Wiesel. I read it for a Western Civ. class my freshman year of college. I just like the tales of survivors of the Holocaust, and fiction stories also based on it.
Rabid, if you haven’t read Children of the Holocaust and WWII: Their Secret Diaries,[/b] it might be something that you are interested in if you like the Holocaust era. They are also in diary format. Not only is it about Jewish children, but others too.

Participanti cant really think of a particular book that i’d list as my favorite, but there’s a few authors i’ve read that are pretty good…
-the Kathleen Mallory series by Carol O’Connell is really good… I read “Stone Angel” for a book report senior year of high school, but liked it so much I decided to check out the other books…
-some of Tom Clancy’s work is pretty good, but hard to get into…. “Sum of All Fears” was really good but really long and detailed.
-Tolkien was indeed extremely descriptive, but that just makes for a richer environment for the storyi’m sure i’ll think of some author later that I like, but til then thats all

MemberMy favorite is probably a book called Tangerine by Edward Bloor. It has so many twists and is so good that I stayed up all night until I finished it.
Quote:quote:Paul Fisher has been legally blind since the age of five. But with the help of special prescription goggles, Paul can see, and is an excellent soccer player. He can also see things his parents can’t see, like the disturbed dangerous side of his older brother Erik. Paul has always lived in the shadow of his older brother Erik, a high school football star. Their father is obsessed with Erik’s football career. When the family moves to Tangerine County, Florida, Paul begins to recall memories of menacing incidents involving his brother. He senses that the mysterious accident that rendered him legally blind is also the reason he fears his brother. As the story unfolds Paul begins to learn more about the secret that his family has kept hidden from.December 25, 2004 at 3:27 am #109407gossipingrae

We had to read it in 7th grade for our English class, but the first time I read it was in 6th. Terriffic book, but a little sad.
Also I just got done with another book by John Grisham called The Rainmaker. Like many of his books, it is about lawyers. It is a good read, I recommend it to anyone.
