One of the biggest complaints about the iPhone is the inability to run third-party applications. Of course, there are ways around this. You can jailbreak your iPhone, but it’s not a trivial process, especially if you’re already running one of the new updates.
Thankfully, Apple let out that they were in fact going to come out with an official SDK to allow third-party development. It was rumored to come out during February, but it’s March 4 and still no SDK.
So my question is… When is Apple’s iPhone SDK coming out?!
The 2.0 SDK is out now, but you have to pay to get it (I think). The 2.0 firmware upgrade will be available free to iPhone users sometime in June, and there will be an “official” process for Apple-approved third-party apps. Some may be free, but they can also charge, using an interface similar to that in iTunes.
It actually looks pretty exciting… I’ll post some videos of the announcement.
nice info ^_^
