ParticipantHello this is for my friend who is having problems with her yahoo messenger. She can’t see my messages at all it’s all blank. I don’t know how to help her. She has her scripting enable and uninstall yahoo nothing works.
She have 8.1 version. I was thinking maybe she can use yremover.exe to clean everything out then try to install again.
I can’t find yremover.exe on here….Someone helped me here before when I had problems….thanks! hugs, RoseSeptember 28, 2007 at 12:00 am #164470mfenech

ParticipantI had this problem for a short time quite awhile ago in Yahoo. I’d type & send, or my contact would send & nothing appeared on my screen. I found an unlikely solution on another forum & I’ve never had the problem again.
Make sure ALL pop up blockers are disabled. That means in IE, internet properties (both the little checkbox and in custom settings), any other browsers she may use, toolbars that have been added & any other place/program you can find having anything related to a pop up blocker.
While I do get pop-ups while browsing the net, they are nowhere near as bad as they used to be in years past. The number I experience there are tolerable to see that my messages work with no issues. I do however recommend doing at least weekly spyware scans (which is simply good practice anyway) but having the pop ups disabled totally does seem to increase the scan results. Just keep the machine good and clean.
Let me know if this helps. I know it sounds crazy, but it worked for me and for several other people I know as well.

ParticipantShe tried yremover and install new version….no good
She turned off popup blocker…no good and 2 browsers are IE and AOL.
She have spysweeper but I told her to turn off highjack sheild and keylogger still no good.
I don’t understand what changed. It worked fine until this week she started having problems with yahoo im. No windows box and no messages from me. I can read her messages to me but can’t read mine to her.
This is very strange in fact she have windows messenger and we talked back and forth with no problem…it makes no sense at all! Why can’t she use yahoo im?????
She allowed yahoo.com from internet options using popup blocker settings. She said she didn’t do anything to change.
Please any more suggestions????? We like yahoo im better and hope she can get it back to working again. Thanks so much…hugs, Rose

ParticipantThis is a scripting issue in Internet explorer
Since Yahoo! Messenger uses IE for its pm’s and chatscreen you or your friend or trend may have changed a IE setting that has disabled some script.
You may need to do the following.
I can’t see the instant messages. – Yahoo! Messenger
And Y! Remover is here!
Hope that helps you out 🙂
