KeymasterI know some of the BigBlueBall regulars have been scratching their heads and wondering… where the heck is Jeff these days? Well, at this moment I’m en route from Kuwait to Frankfurt, surfing the web using Lufthansa’s inflight broadband internet service.
They are starting the descent, so now I’ve got to switch off the PC, but I’ll be posting an update later today.
Meanwhile, you can check out my photos on Flickr.

MemberThanks for that marvellous post, Jeff.
You have my total ENVY !! I’d dearly love to try that.
Inflight movies, paperbacks, Ipods, airline magazines – NOTHING overcomes my internet withdrawal when on a long flight.Bravo to Lufthansa!

ParticipantThanks for checking in and sharing your wonderful journey with us, Jeff. The pictures definitely show the normalcy of life in Kuwait – which I’m thrilled to see. And you know usability interests me – was this for website development, IM platforms, computers in general or something else entirely. Just nosy, but I have a vested interest.
I look forward to more updates on your travel. Sometimes we have to live vicariously 😉 Thanks for the portal.

KeymasterI’ve been in Gliwice, Poland for the past few days, and leave for Amsterdam this afternoon. It’s nice to be in one time zone finally.
The people here in Gliwice have been very welcoming and friendly. It’s been really nice and I hope to come back again someday. The first night I was here I went out for a beer in the town square with a couple co-workers, then last night we went bowling.
Polarbear, the usability testing is specific to the internally developed knowledge management system used by the company I work for. It’s a web-based KM system, and we’re using Techsmith Morae to help with the testing.
I’ve uploaded a bunch more photos, organized by location:
Next time, see you from Amsterdam!

So when you get back, you’ll have all this data on changes to make – or confirmation that your design actually does what you wanted it to do – and the users could figure it out. It’s certainly a *buzzing* topic in many industries.
The pictures are great, too. Good work, good play, good times.

KeymasterI’m still in the Netherlands, getting ready for a train ride to Bergen op Zoom. I have been extremely frustrated getting online here at my hotel. They don’t have internet access in the rooms, and for whatever reason, the wireless access in the lobby (which I had to pay for) was really flakey — I tried and tried but could not maintain a decent connection for more than a few minutes.
So I pulled the wireless adapter out of my main laptop and plugged it into my second laptop (doesn’t everyone carry two?), and… it appears (knock on wood) that my connection woes are over! I’ll let you know for sure tonight when I get back. Er, well… if you hear from me tonight then you’ll know its working? 🙂

MemberWell let’s hope that when you get to England on Friday, the connection is better.
Saying that if you think I am going to let you anywhere near a computer whilst your here… mmh well you had better think again! :p
I can see the headlines now, “American loses will to live as English girl kidnaps his laptop”.

Only two? :p Sounds like this has been quite the trip for you, hope your internet connection gets better, I hate that at hotels when they advertise as wireless but it’s either from the Kinko’s across the street (meaning I pay), or it’s lobby only.
