Thanks. I did some searching in the Linksys forums; this post might be helpful to you. If not, do a search for WRT54G and firewall; I tried that and came out with quite a number of hits.
just wanted to say thanks for everyone’s thoughts on my problem. i was too frustrated so i took a few weeks off of trying to figure it out. and then yesterday i just tried to log on for kicks and guess what happened. they both work now. who knows what did the trick but thanks a bunch to all of you! i really appreciate it!
