MemberHI, i’m new in here and there seems to be a problem with my Yahoo messenger. Looks Like an automated bot has been installed and sends out Random URL’s like http://www.funphoto.tk or other URL’s ending with .tk
If anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem i’d be very thankful

MemberI have yet to have this problem happen to me. In fact just the other day, I was in chat and posted a few Url’s in the Chat room, and I was not disconnected nor did I have my account locked. Maybe this situation has something to do with what server you are connected to or what region you are in??? Just thought I’d put my two cents in here.

MemberI don’t have that in any of my machines @ teck64
I’ve done a search in all of my HDD just to satisfy my curiousity… nada…
The temporary chat ban that Yahell imposes to offenders is done server side and not on the client PC…
I’ve also done a search in most tech sites and I can’t find any reference on “MScgsys.exe” the closest that I found was “msgsys.exe”

Memberthis for some script thats going around, it sends a url to who ever your talking to , like http://www.voicechat.tk , now since you know the person sending you this, you click on it, and might install it! once you do that you got the bug, and it does it to your buddy list, and thus it spreads! I also tried finding it but no luck, I checked my running process and ask one of my buddys over at arcadeathome.com/forums, he had no idea what that process was. once I took it off my startup files and off my reg, the problem went away, anyways I hope its useful for some.

MemberYahoo! dont have a big blacklist of URL as such, although you can guarantee something crazy with the http://www.333 or whatever.
It would appear there are triggers that cause a url to ban you, for example posting http://www.winamp.com sometimes has that affect, and its not a bad site. Bots post a large number of URLs, and if a url was to be banned, they would just go get a redirect, or more likely switch to a new provider or a new username within current provider.
Yahoo! have obviously employed some “intelligence”. Some URLs are whitelisted however, these will never cause a ban, what are they? I don’t know, geocities ones aren’t though, they can cause a ban just like any other.

MemberActually, posting URL’s don’t always get your account locked but it is a risky business. While posting several URL’s in a short period of time will definitely cause this, it is not always the case. In the Yahoo chat rooms we post URL’s a lot and yes there are occasions when our own accounts get locked as a result. But most often…NO. In addition, Yahoo is very quick to lock your account for the posting of specific URL’s. Some examples are URL’s that contain competitors like angelfire and freewebs..(not freewebz). And especially Porn sites…don’t even copy and paste a mimic of one or you will regret it. Yahoo is very unpredictable about this issue so use your own discretion…or better yet – post the URL’s in pm(IM) to a friend if need be. The URL issue only applies to the chat room directly and not pm’s.
