MemberIt’s been like this for a LONG time now, it is nothing new, if it happens just click on some other rooms, then go back an click on the room you are wanting to goto, and if it doesn’ pop up, then repeat the process, usually works for me if i have this problem, but every once in a while you just can’t seem to get into certain rooms.

Memberthis has only started for me today, only one or two rooms are in the folders, but most are just not there at all, i have tried over and over but all i get is “Yahoo Public Rooms” displayed, there are no user rooms whatsoever just completely blank.

MemberI am having the same problem as Stapler uk is…i tryed for like 4 1/2 hours lastnight to get into the chatrooms and it didnt work…and it is still not working for me today…personally i think that they should of kept yahoo messenger 5.5 until they have worked out all of the bugs in 5.6 before they actually released it…but yeah i am gonna stop complaining now…later on.

MemberIf it is 5.6 thats causing the problem, why not just get 5.5, just because a new version of a messenger comes out, doesn’t mean you have to upgrade. I have never had this problem with the older version, and that could be whats wrong here.

MemberIt’s actually a server problem. Earlier this morning I was first getting asked in the Yahoo! Help room where user rooms had gone, as only public rooms was loading. Not long later, it was all the rooms, from all the countries had gone.
I checked my own roomlist program that I wrote, and I checked YahELite and no roomlists where loading. Yahoo! will have to fix it.
Things to try are view>>refresh on main screen, incase yahoo! have sorted it out.
Remember also user room lists are only available in the US messenger http://messenger.yahoo.com
If you know the name of a room you want to join, and no roomlists appear, click “make a room” and just click ok, this will get you into your own chat room. Then when in a chat room, type /join roomname in the place you type your text and press enter, it will then take you to the roomname specified.

MemberWell I had a look again on my own roomlisting modules. Public rooms are loading every so often. I.E. the first time I tried they loaded, I then tried to load a few different categories and got nothing, then they started loading again. Also NO user rooms listed at any point.
Problem lies on server, nothing anyone can fix other than Yahoo!
Problem in YahELite appears its not loading even public rooms, suggesting maybe Yahoo! could have switched something. Yahoo! Messenger uses a new roomlisting server and XML to transmit data, older clients like YahELite, YaZak are still using the old methods.

MemberI told you it’s the servers. It has nothing at all to do with messenger version, nor does it have anything to do with booters or mic hoggers.
This site has links to many versions of messenger that are still online at Yahoo!, hence its a safe download http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.html

Memberhey this is the problem of server over crowded!!! this generally happens if the servers are flodded!!! u can easily check this by logging on to http://chat.yahoo.com and it will try to conn to server but will fail to do so!!!! This problem can only be solved by adding some of the rooms to ur fav and keep going thru them!!!!

MemberA Yahoo! person said that the servers are down. I was right.
