Does anyone here use Yahoo! Companion?
No Way The Less You Down Load The Better Your Computer Runs-exploits and spyware -nobodys going To find out were I”m at And what I Buy
Obviously spiderman uses Yahoo Companion. I’m not entirely sure about your claim that the less you download, the better your computer runs. That’s somewhat inaccurate.
Plus, although Yahoo Companion did/still does store the username and password in a plain text file, I don’t think this justifies saying that it is, “full of spyware and exploits”. I’m sure a lot more people use Yahoo Companion, because if it wasn’t popular enough, then I would imagine Yahoo wouldn’t keep providing it.
I agree w/ you on some points of that.
By it still having plain text password, thats just bad programming.
All one needs to do is create a webpage, and choose one of the many new plethora of IE exploits, to grab the install log, and save it server side.
So all those that have companian would then get their username/pw.
I don’t use it just because it saves user/pass in plain text, along w/ the fact I hate toolbars lol.
Just use Mozilla, built in pop up blocker, I would say use IE 6 sp2, but its crap.
