KeymasterAre there services or programs out there that will let you see the status messages of people who are not on your Yahoo buddy list and tell you if they are idle or how long they have been idle, etc (similar to invisible checkers but let you see status messages)? I heard those spammers can see your status messages somehow even though they are not on your list. So it must be possible. If not, then maybe GarethFerguson can cook one up.

Memberwhy ? What is your obsession with spying on people ?

ParticipantStatus checkers are not reliable in any way and generally deposit malware on your computer if you use them. My advice is to stay away from them!

Keymastergeetarplyr wrote:why ? What is your obsession with spying on people ?Well, I like to play the detective sometimes to confirm if they are trustworthy or if I notice something fishy and see what appears to be connections and want to find out if it is anything to be worried about or if it is just coincidence (or just search the internet to learn more about the people in my life because I’m interested and curious). Does that compute? If you have been through what I been through and was lied to a lot in your life by many people, then you would understand. I honestly don’t care what you think about me, geetarplyr. Think whatever you want. Have yourself a party.

My advice is to stay away from them!I don’t download the programs (only Buddy Spy after confirming it was malware free and asking if it was safe by asking this forum). A few of these checkers and online checkers are accurate but many are not. The rest I use as web based services that don’t require the download of a program. Though I know that anytime you go to a website, the page downloads to your temporary internet files for faster loading during future visits to the same website. And I do know some of these services like to harvest your email and ids, which is not good, (I just research it and many things on the internet) and don’t click website based ads (even though sometimes I have by accident from an inaccurate click) and I don’t click unknown links sent to me in Yahoo or MSN and I can google the link to see the meta-tag description in the search results page to see if it has a virus without clicking it, though this doesn’t always tell you.
I also have Norton antivirus Corporate edition with current definitions, sysclean, hijackthis, Windows Defender, and I make very strong passwords. I know about computer security through experience and also because I went to school for network administration in the past, building and upgrading my own computer and buying parts online to save money (after comparing the compatibility of the slots of the motherboard, video card, memory, and processor I bought to make sure they would all work together), etc. I also have learned about reporting spammers (marketers) ip addresses of the network they used to send the spam by using samspade.org and emailing the admin of that network the source code (view source) of that spam email, which has stopped the spammy emails I got in the past (learned it all on my own). I also always keep my firewall on. I also know how to manually remove spyware programs if need be through the search windows function after seeing the name of the spyware program in task manager when it loaded itself, and knowing that I can remove it in the registry, safe mode, and all that as a last resort.

Memberok , so I said I was done with you in the pther post , but…just because someone is offline to you , it doesnt mean they arent trustworthy . It means they dont want to talk to you at the moment . If people continually lie to you , well , there are many reasons for that . Something tells me the main reason is you . Now I am done . IF you would like to talk to me in private , and be civil , then maybe we can , because you seem to be like I was .OK ?
Edit : forget about it if you had been thinking about private messanging me . I just went back and saw you edited the hell out of your posts , adding all kinds of stuff , going on and on and on and on and……….

KeymasterI was editing this post over and over again to fix my grammar and spelling and adding more things, and I didn’t even know you posted while I was editing, ok?
I’m sorry I made you angry. I will pm you.

MemberFaking an idle status is too easy.
October 26, 2008 at 3:46 am #171770Jeff Hester
KeymasterNot for the average end user. Many people don’t even know what idle in Yahoo means, it seems.
Not even I know how to fake an idle status since I never tried to much, unless I type the word “idle” next to my nick. I could always research it if I wanted, I guess. The problem is how to get the clock to appear next to my nick without being idle. I guess I could read up on it. Sometimes people’s status gets stuck saying idle when they are not, I have noticed in the past. I could also set it to turn idle after 1 minute but it isn’t the same.

MemberYou cannot have the amount of time idle without the idle status.
October 26, 2008 at 6:43 pm #171771Jeff Hester
KeymasterWhen I say “clock” I’m talking about that watch .gif (pic) symbol that represents idle and only seems to appear if idle. Like the busy icon but the watch instead.

MemberYes, I know. You can spoof the idle status with and without the idle time, but you can’t spoof the idle time alone without the icon/status.

Its not bcuz u dun trust my religion, its bcuz you do not trust anyone even your X Girl friend Huyen …….. you always try to spy on pplz and never trust anyone. Cuz u do not have trust on yourself, you always think peoples are thieves bcuz the real thief is inside you. Anyway, i dun give shi*t what ever you think. My last reply, and by the way…….. do u knw what is the proof that i am not a bad guy ? It is, after all these shi*ts i am still not exposing you and your sickness. So mind it. This is my last reply to this thread. GROW UP.

KeymasterOf course you don’t know the story, so pipe down and drop it now. We are here to talk about Yahoo, not talk about this. Many others know my story and they know she is not good. Even one of her friends told me bad things about her that I already knew. Lately, people are adding me on Yahoo 360 who understand me, from VN. I’m nice to them because they are nice to me and seem to be good.
You should grow up, little boy, who trusts everyone like a naive little boy. I won’t let your comments make me feel bad because I know my heart is better than yours. So no problem. 😀 I’m not sick at all. My eyes are opened and there are people who like me (who know me and I have trust for them). You are just angry because I am not Muslim like you.
I trust in myself. That was how I was able to find out things all on my own. Because I know I’m smart and I trust myself a lot. You don’t know what you are talking about. Saying a one liner “LOL” is not grow up, little boy. Have a nice life.
So let’s drop it now; like people who are grown up should.
