MemberI have updated my Size Patch for Yahoo Messenger 6 so it will now work with both versions… 6.0.0.1643 and the new version 6.0.0.1671…
For those who don’t know what it is…This patch allows you to shrink the size of the contact window to any size you want. It will even be saved at the smaller size for the next time you open messenger! 😀
you can get it here directly:
right click on this address and choose “Save Target As”
http://www.angelfire.com/creep/yahoo_heretic/Yahoo6_MinSize_Patch.zipor here off of the site:

MemberI get this..
Angelfire does not allow direct linking
from offsite, non-Angelfire pages,
to files hosted on Angelfire.
This practice of ‘remote linking’ reduces
our ability to serve out the homepages
of our members quickly and efficiently.June 17, 2004 at 2:06 pm #77640Heretic
Memberthat’s why I said: right click on this address and choose “Save Target As”
otherwise you can go here:

MemberAhhhhhhh ok ok sorry. So I can’t follow instructions today. Thanks.
Edit: Ok so I woke up and followed the instructions perfectly and it keeps prompting me that my Ypager.exe cannot be found althougth I’m looking right at it in my Messenger Folder.

MemberHeretic thank you for the update patch for resizing YM6 I just read the read me file and I do not have vbrun300.dll is this needed and why ?
Anything going On about the Applying Skins ?

MemberYou only need to worry about it if you get a error message…Most people should have it on their systems already…You need it so applications written in Visual Basic can run…
I would have preferred writing it in C++ but VB is quicker and I don’t have a lot of time these days…Maybe on a weekend when I can sit down for a bit…. 😉
as far as skins goes…I haven’t looked at that…

You have to close Yahoo Messenger first, then run the patch.

MemberIt broke the content bar tabs. The main problem is with the launchcast bar. A window either pops up totally on bottom or partially on bottom and top. Not a problem if you dont use them I guess but I do occasionally. Maybe ya can figure out a fix? ;]

just make the window larger when you use content bar tabs and smaller when you don’t…the reason why they locked the window to the larger size was to make sure things like the launchcast bar would look correct…If you make it smaller with those things on it will certainly look strange…

Are you using the newest version of Messenger? It doesn’t seem to work with the newest release.

MemberSome people are seeming to get confused on this patch even the ones I have sent it to.
heres the instructions
1) Download patch in the url given by heretic in the post above.
2) Once downloaded the patch unzip the patch and close down yahoo messenger.
3) With Yahoo messenger closed ( totally turned off even with its icon not showing in systems tray at bottom right hand screen)
4) Double left click on my computer icon, double left click on local c drive, double left click on Programs files folder, double left click on yahoo folder.. double left click on messenger folder.
5) when there you will see an icon called Ypager.exe When you see that…. either copy and past the mini patch or drag and drop the mini patch into there..
6) Click on the Mini patch and when a box appears.. click on Run Patch and then it will instal. and inform you its successful
7) Close messenger folder down and now run yahoo.
