Memberhave recently puchased a webcam to c2c with yahoo contacts. not too keen on being recorded. dont know how to do it but know it can be done. my question… is there a way to prevent my webcam from being recorded or know if someone is recording it. or must i simply trust the other person and not show anything i wouldnt want recorded? thx for any input for this newbie who doesnt want to appear on the web unknowingly.:o

Of course you could trust someone, but it is the net and anything’s possible…
So just use your best judgement on what you are comfortable doing while on cam! And don’t do anything you’ll later regret!
Hope all goes good. 🙂

ParticipantOnly way to stop people recording your cam is not to put it on.
Or don’t let them see it.

MemberNot “TOO stupid”, Vegas – in fact not “stupid” at all ! 😉
That was a perfectly sensible and reasonable question.I’m sorry noone could give you a more “total” answer, but glad you’re reasonably happy with what you got though. 🙂
The only STUPID question is the one you never ask.December 11, 2006 at 5:52 pm #155153Dermot
ParticipantWell the answer was the only one that could be given, once broadcasting you’re delivering jpg images in frames to the other party to their pc.
They can then use software on their pc to save these files and save them as a complete avi file for further playback.
The only way is to not broadcast these images to them in the first place.

MemberI agree, the best way not to get your cam recorded is to show it to only to people you trust.
I remember one of my buddies using a program called cam stop or something like that a while ago. The program was supposed to kick everybody off cam who tried to record the cam. I’m not sure how reliable it was tho, nor do i know if it still exists/works.
I’m gonna ask my buddy about it and inform you if the program is still there and working. 🙂December 12, 2006 at 3:46 am #155156dvelez1985
