MemberI’ve been browsing thru reading topics and polls and a couple of times have been amazed to seen that users have over 100 people on their IM lists. How many is too much?? What’s the point in keeping people listed if you talk to them once in six months, etc. You get my point.. I’m curious to see some responses… (poll potential?)
Write the new kid..pretty please :p

ParticipantI agree browneyes. Why have people on your contact list if you aren’t going to talk to them. The only people I have on my contact list are my close friends and the occasional contact I meet on the forums. I think you’ll find that most teenagers will have an enormous contact list, while older users will have just the necessary ones.
I also agreed with your poll potential comment, and whipped one up here – check it out

MemberIts takes me an hour to actually count my friends!
Honestly, I posted a whole list of my friends, real one’s not IM one’s on a forum which was deleted after because the owner couldn’t afford it, even though he could use free host but he didn’t. He deleted the forum! But now, my list is even more bigger and can’t really type that much at the moment.

MemberI agree, that is why I just thinned out my Yahoo list(my bigest one). If anyone else wants to, go here.

ParticipantI delete 20 or so per month,…. I’m up to 330 in AIM (2 screen name’s). Some of my frriends add people just so they can say they have 100+, sad eh?

That’s it and I am not that old 😀 lol.

MemberI rarely add people anymore. The ones I do have I’ve known for a long time (prior to the ‘interweb’). I get a kick out of people (who are not spammers) who want to add you without even talking to you: “Hey u seem kewl! Lets chat and i will add u 2 my list!”
For the record, I have <30 people on my list.

MemberLol i just love that too IndyTone, other night i went to get offline and went to shut down icq and someone had added me to there icq, without saying a word to me. And wasnt even online for me to talk to by then. Ive had that happen like 4 times now i think, last night i got online and started up msn and someone had added me who i have no clue who it is, and again they wernt online. Just love that

MemberSpeaking of friends….there’s a sort of new website I heard about on NPR today. It’s called friendster.com I have not affliliation of any sort with it…but it seemed interesting…. It’s like a little network of your friends and your friends’ friends…and you just sort of meet people that way. Just thought if you wanted to meet people…this would help!

MemberI have 2 friends who make a new sn every week. Its so annoying. I finally got up to 30 of their sn’s and jsut deleted all of them. I cant stand it when people jsut steal sn’s that others would actually use. Its so rude and stuped. But aol oviously can make a account deleting option because if your account got hacked it could easily get deleted.

MemberI have 8 on my Friends List and 5 on my Friends MIA (Missing In Action). If I talk with a friend atleast once a month they are active. If not they get moved to the MIA list. If I don’t talk to them within 3 months they go DOA. There is no list for that!

MemberI have 85 contacts on my MSN list, 8 on AIM, 1 on ICQ and 28 on YIM. ;P
Most of them (like 90) are people I met way back in 2001 on Napster and stuff – and I don’t wanna remove them ‘cuz I hope that maybe I’ll see them log on once in a while. Hasn’t happened yet but oh well. :]

MemberWhat’s wrong with having lots of friends. Teenagers have a big social life, and before we become audults (who have barely any social life at all) we want to socialize as much as we can

MemberWell yeah, i’m a teen but have no social life.
