The reason why you are having problems with AIM 6.0 on vista, is because there are a few flaws in AIM 6.0 that do not allow it to work correctly.

If u are using V5.9, click expressions on the bottom, when that comes up you can choose now for free anything in there for your buddy icon, smileys, sounds, and buddy wallpaper

No, there is no way to see if a friend has another yahoo id, because each yahoo id is signed up seperatly, and has no relation to another account.
