There are no IM’s that give you a gurantee of interoperability, however the technical ability to cross communcate exists. The only way forward is to ditch the proprietary IM’s such as AIM,ICQ,MSN and move to Jabber if you want a really “Open” IM structure in the long term

Hopefully i have translated your posting correctly so here goes….
Open the preferences page, go to events and then click on advanced tab.
Find AIM:New Mail Yahoo:New Mail as you have already been advised and using edit link to your personalised sound files. Linking a file to each individual POP3 account isnt possible.
As far as ICQMail goes thats not possible AFAIK, seeing as its a proprietary protocol and the only way to be notified is through a true ICQ client
