MemberI’ve just tried signing in, (22:51 GMT) and the service still isn’t up, is there actually a solution to this or do we just have to rely on Microsoft sorting themselves out? It’s damn annoying.
MartinBradley
MemberYeah, I had the same problem, very suprisingly, I found that downloading the version 6.1 for Windows 98/ME worked on XP Pro with no problems, the most improbable solution I know, but it worked for me, give it a try.

MemberYou can actually remove Windows Messenger by following the steps below, I did it and it didn’t seem to make my Outlook express lag.
On XP Systems without SP1:
Click Start – Run, then type the following:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%INFmsmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Press ENTER
Restart WindowsOn XP Systems WITH SP 1:
– Control Panel
– Add / Remove Programs
– Click on “Add/Remove Windows Components” on the left
– Un-check “Windows Messenger”
– Click “NEXT”
– Click “Finish”
– RebootMartinBradley
MemberAh sorry. Well, after installation, several attempts to run game, it kept crashing to the desktop just after the introductory video. So i thought it wass potentially a graphics problem, I checked my graphics card, (GEFORCEMX 440), and everything was fine with that. So I tried running the game in all compatibility modes that were avaliable, the game then ran, but was split up onscreen. Like I got half a screen of the welcome screen, then a big black line down the middle, then the other half of the welcome screen. Its confusing I know, but I can’t really put it any blunter than that. I’ve tried uninstalling – reinstalling too.

MemberIt means you have to be inactive on your computer for 5 minutes. Otherwise you have to switch to away manually.

MemberYeah i’ll probably use the VLOOKUP layout, its the one i’m most familiar with. I have a busy few days so i might not be able to try anything on it for a bit, i’ll get back to you all in this forum though when i’ve tried. Thanks for your help.
MartinBradley

Member“The administration something” That suggests to me that you do need administrator rights to install MSN Messenger. Get a parent or other adult to log into your computer as an administrator and install MSN Messenger for you. On the other hand, are you on a network? If so then get the system administrator to install MSN Messenger for you. And yes I agree with Shifter, it would greatly help if you could make future posts easier to understand.
MartinBradley
MemberDo you need administrator rights to install MSN Messenger? I’m not sure about it, just a suggestion but worth a try I suppose. At what part of the installation do you get the error?

MemberOh yes, sorry one more thing. If you are unsure about a file, look at the extension, if you want a song then look for extentions like .mp3 and .wma. However if it is an .exe file or a .bat file then do be aware of it and scan it with a virus checker before running. It might seem like a monotonous process but I have learned in the past that its better to be safe than sorry.
