I’m not doing any file-sharing when this happens.

Windows XP
Service Pack II
ISP: ApartmentHost.com
AIM version: 5.9

However, I switched to 5.5 and was faced with the same problem.

I have T1 internet with no routers–I’m plugged straight into the wall–I’m running Windows XP, and have version 5.9 of AIM, but it’s still randomly disconnecting me and repeatedly booting me out of chatrooms without warning me, and then just as suddenly letting me back in. My roommates are having the same problems as far as being disconnected/reconnected.

Hopefully I get an answer here. The guys over at the other forum I asked about in regards to this never responded.

Are you sick and tired of "Top 10" lists that don't really help you make decisions that will improve your life? That's a pet peeve of mine, too, and I'm doing something about it.
