Not that I know of, well live journals and such have moods but as for a “community” for AIM I do not believe there is one. Just put however you feel in your pro or online journal and try startin a craze I guess
I got a similar link but to a diff chat, I didnt know the person however but they were in the chat, could it be them who has the virus and thats y?
I think I might have found a program to do this, http://www.trikenit.com/aimautoforwarder.html you can check it out, the way I read it, correct me if I’m mistaking, is that it acts as a bot and gives you away status, and then it takes messages and sends it to your phone, but it’s supposedly not exactly AIM Mobile Forwarding (don’t ask me why, its hard for me to understand what all it’s saying). The thing that you might be interested in, is that it has commands you can use (you must be able to talk while away so download) to enable/disable mobile forwarding. This way you don’t have to go through all the hassle and just have to type a short command. If this isn’t what your looking for, I can try finding another program
Actually it could be both, do you have a firewall installed on your computer/go through a router? Sometimes they block AIM and need you to allow AIM to access the internet. It would be easier to help if we knew what firewall, if any, and what router, if any.
I’m assuming since your in the AIM forums its AIM buddy icons, but is it going to be your own personal icons, user submitted, or both. And if it’s yours or both, what type of icons do you make? this way it’ll be easier to get an idea of what your site will be
Unfortunately you can’t. When you download an expression it works only for the sn that you downloaded it on. I’ve tried tranfering and such and I’ve never gotten it to work and as far as I know you can’t so you’re just going to have to download it again. Another reason to hate AIM
dont worry about the comments, the comments is what your friend added to your name. You right click on their name and scroll down to “Store/Edit Buddy Comment” to add a comment to a friend’s sn, however I’m not sure about your other problem. It might of been just a glitch by AOL, I don’t know, but the Comment part isn’t anything to worry about
Also if you wanted, you can use Middleman for Talking While Away but I don’t believe it logs direct connections either. And it works with the newest AIM version
I’m not sure if the virus is the same or not, but the message is similar except for the link is to a different site but the file name is bestfriend.scr so I think it might be the same. You can try downloading the fix from http://www.jayloden.com/BestFriends.htm and click on Removal Tool. If you prefer to make sure the virus is the same, open Task Manager and check to see if “YahooMsgr.exe” is running or “Yahoomsg.exe” is running. According to the site, the virus has changed websites twice so it wouldn’t suprise me if the virus is the same. Yes you can use AIM through text messaging or if you want a really like AIM experience, some wireless providers have an AIM application download if it is compatible with your phone although it is a slight charge. And all providers that I know of (not saying all) charge you text messages for using AIM (Even with the application) I hope I was of some help
I was wondering… does Otsego work with Middleman? I currently have Beta Release 2 and I downloaded Otsego and everything seemed to be fine but when I tried signing in it said ‘proxy request failed’ also.. im not sure if otsego starts out wit editing the picture on the sign in screen… and if it does it didn’t on mine which leads me to believe maybe its not compatible wit Middle Man. id rather not uninstall AIM and reinstall and try… for im fine wit middle man but id like to giv Otsego a try and see if I like that better. I read that other AIM Add Ons like Dead AIM work so I don’t know. But thanks for any help
filelib has the sns that have logged on to ur computer. the folders say they are empty and deleting one of the folders and using that sn seemed to have no affect on it so its safe. deleting the folder does no good because as soon as you sign on with a sn, AIM makes another filelib folder. so if he really doesnt want them, he can just delete the folder or delete all the individual folders. the only purpose in deleting the folder filelib is if he doesnt want to highlight and delete all the individual folders which will save u like two seconds so it doesnt really matter
they definately wouldnt do it by AIM and I dont know if there really was a person going around iming every1 and telling them about it but i got the message from a couple of friends so if AOL would do it, they would actually have one of their representatives do it. and they should get rid of dead sns but they should email the person and if the person dont reply about a certain account within a week, then delete that account.
