There could be a corrupted file in the version of yahoo messenger you are using. What version is it and maybe you could try an older version if you are having problems with this one, have you checked your settings? Are you behind a firewall? That could be the problem also.
I think it is one of those spam emails, like the ones that are sent from ebay that is not really from ebay, good thing you didn’t click on thelink. You should save the email and forward it to yahoo if you can to see what they can do about it.
I have had that happen to me also and alot of my friends have had that same problem. That is just yahoo. There are 2 things I can suggest for you to try, it seems to have worked, you can refresh the chat page or close the window and reenter the room. Also there have been trouble where people can’t hear people in voice and have to refresh and PM”S don’t work right either. I hope this helps.
Try this, go to preferences, then connection and click no proxies if it’s not checked, if not try clicking use proxies. Are you behind a firewall by any chance? If so that could be the problem. If you are behind a firewall then check firewall with no proxies. I think It is just yahoo because you are able to log into java and 2.0 with no problem. If none of this works, maybe try going back to an older version of yahoo messenger.
I am getting the incorrect username/password message. I had the problem a few months ago also. That time it was yahoo. I was wondering if it was yahoo again. I ma not the only one in the house having the problem.
We are using Windows Xp, I was able to view just about everything but the hotmail website. I couldn’t get any of the messengers to connect at all…except yahoo messenger, but was unable to communicate with my friends in an instant message, I was getting their responses, but they couldn’t see mine.
