MemberWe’re working on the MSN6 display pics. It’s just taking a little while to decipher. Trillian Pro 2.0 does use MSNP9, the MSN Messenger 6 version of the protocol, but we haven’t yet deciphered all the new packets and suchnot. π

MemberI’ll toss that in as an enhancement request into the internal bug/feature tracking, to see about making the webcam stuff an event if it’s not already. Yahoo is Scott’s code, so I’m not sure if he’s exporting webcam notifications into the event system or not yet. π

MemberWell, the significant changes are under the hood; the core of Trillian has been pretty heavily rewritten.
Making the entire program support Unicode was a pretty major change, and took a great deal of work. Rewriting the entire windowing and skinning system was non-trivial. Exposing all of Trillian’s internals to the plugin system was another non-trivial change. Setting up the Pro codebase so that it can be changed into the free codebase (i.e. Pro 2.0 can be used to make the base for an upcoming rerelease of Free) was non-trivial.
There’s actually more changed code between Pro 1.0 and Pro 2.0 than there was between 0.7x and Pro. The thing is that all the time and effort was spent on the underlying stuff, so there’s not a lot of new glitz on the surface. However, 2.0 has major changes in what can be done, so as people make skins and plugins to take advantage of these features, you’ll see major stuff that could never have been done under Pro 1.0.

MemberThe restart worked because it re-creates the connection. π If you just click on the MSN iconholder, then select ‘Remove Connection’, then click on the MSN iconholder, select ‘Connection Manager’ and then reconnect your MSN account, it will work. There’s some kind of wacky state bug in MSN in the current release.
Sparks
MemberTry removing the connection, then going to connection manager and re-adding it?

MemberVoice chat is a headache to sort out. It’s something we want to support, but since the voice chat protocols are changing on a few of the systems, we’d rather wait until they finish the new ones and sort out how to use those, rather than having a repeat of the webcam situation. :/
Sparks
MemberThere’s no spellchecker in the current release. It’s an oft-requested feature, so I wouldn’t say that’s a situation that will go unchanged. π

MemberThe webcam bug’s known. Yahoo changed the webcam protocol right… /right/… after we released 1.0; if you have someone using the original Yahoo webcam protocol, you can view it fine. Not with the new one, which required an entirely different compression algorithm and a non-trivial rewrite. :/
We have support for that one in the upcoming release, though. π
Sparks
MemberWe didn’t change anything, so I’d expect it’s something Yahoo did. As far as I know, it was never supposed to allow concurrent logins on the same Yahoo account anyway. π
Sparks
MemberWe’re not sure if we can make the changes in time for the release… basically, MSN 6 came out right as we were in final debugging and polishing-off on the next version. It’ll depend on how much effort the new protocol will take to implement.
Sparks
MemberAck. I meant this as a reply to the MSN problem post. :/

MemberSet an away state with CUSTOM for Yahoo and ‘Do Nothing’ for every other medium (in the ‘Advanced’ portion of editing an away mode). Uncheck ‘Auto-Respond with Message’. Save. Use.
Admittedly, I’m pretty wiped right now so that’s off the top of my head without trying it, but I’m pretty sure that’ll do what you want. π

MemberIt depends on the skin, but most have a few. The default Pro skin, Whistler, has quite a few. π

MemberI’ve not had problems sending files on MSN, so I know it’s definitely possible.
If you provide more info on what’s wrong, though, folks might be able to help. I.e., are you behind a firewall or a NAT box (i.e. are you using Internet Connection Sharing or any sort of DSL/Cable router, like one of the Linksys boxes), are you using 0.74 or Pro 1.0 or what? π
Sparks
MemberFirstly, if you’re a Pro user, you are eligible for official tech support. Go into the members section and submit a ticket; Don will take care of you or send you on to one of us devs to deal with. π
I just snagged the latest ICQ Lite, and I can’t reproduce this from Trillian (admittedly not 1.0C, but an internal build from last month), and I don’t see anything in the changelog about a fix for ICQ Lite (though I /do/ see a protocol fix for ICQ2Go)…
What I’d suggest is pulling up the console window for your ICQ connection and seeing if you see any strange messages coming back; that’d give more information.
