Stalking , Oreo is right, and I sympothize with you. Sounds to me like he may have sent you a file , mine stalker said ” hey lets try this ” he sent me a file I opened it only it didn’t open I thought well it didn’t go through , next thing I know he knew every id and password was changing emails and closing them down etc. This was all before when I had windows 98 was new to the net , didn’t know what a firewall was and had trust in people on the net. I was a true NET DUMMIE . What I found out he eventually did was before I had a firewall the ” file” he sent me was actually an invisble keylogger he sent me. That is why went I tried to press open it wouldn’t open. It just sat there so I closed it . I was told these were/ are my solutions since he gained access to my administrative rights on my computer which means ( he can sign on like me ) he knows exactly when I come online everything I’m doing and where I’m at , every id on yahoo and everything I say . Since he gained these rights he then hid the invisible logger or may have even gotten rid of it BUT since he got these rights and got my main IP address off my hardrive or he left a backdoor open so that he can forever get in . The only way to get rid of him is to get a new computer, never sign into my old ids , don’t contact the people I used to know , never go to the sites I went to and make new ids . Also any program that can be downloaded again like aim , yahoo messenger anything that can be downloaded DO NOT SAVE THEM on a disc because you take the risk of transferring them to another computer . Also any files or pictures or anything he can make it so once you download them on your new computer he will again have access anotherwords you have to start over like you were / are completely and totally new to the net.
if you visit the places you used to or talk to the people you talk to now he could get ahold of you again .
I’m sorry this has happened to you but starting over will be the best thing. I CANNOT stress enough that you will have to start over on a NEW COMPUTER with New ids and passwords NOTHING like what your old ones were also remember if you go to anyones house and open up messenger with your ids.. He will also have access to their computer . I am double unlucky because my husband is connect through my computer too he is on a wireless so he has to change everything too. And since I email with family members once I change everything I’m not going to be able to get in contact with them either. 🙁
I learned this the hard way . 🙁
Now I know that a firewall and router are the best way to go . Never ” trust anyone completely on the net . Always be careful and and even with a firewall and router remember if they are good enough they can still gain access , your only options are to take extra precautions once you start over. He will be looking for you and trying to find you once you start over . So please remember don’t go back to everything only go forward.
