stalking
MemberCan it be that a Yahoo user has blocked me to my friends forever?
I am unable to get in contact with them. And the user-ID
who are doing abuse is always responding on their behalf.
Even I can not ignore this user ID.July 8, 2004 at 9:26 pm #41995tangledlisa
MemberYou say friend(s) – you can’t get in contact with more than one person on your list? Can you IM with anyone? Have you tried getting in contact with them with an alternative method other than Yahoo?

MemberYes I tried with new ID’s, I tried also to email them at their yahoo.com
mail adress, no respond at all. 2 of this friends left and we are talking under an another ID, but I contacted them by phone, telling them my new ID. The target of this abuse user was to “eliminate my male friends”, as he is doing that as personal “vendetta/revange”.
I emailed 7 times!!! to Yahoo-Abuse-Team and I got back just 1 standard answer, no other help or suggestions.
But I lost the “other friends”. He is responding on their behalf to me,
faking a talk.
Any idea in which “nirvana” are they gone? Seems that there are many tools able to do that…July 8, 2004 at 11:53 pm #41996Oreo
MemberI would suggest that you check your PC for trojans or something of that sort. Update a virus program and use it. Here is a link to many trojan program links that were already posted in another post on the site (https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11009&SearchTerms=trojan,scanner) Also, I would suggest that you install AD-AWARE and SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY both are free. Run these programs and clean out your system, then try to talk to your friends again and see what happens. I hope this works for you. 🙂

KeymasterStalking , Oreo is right, and I sympothize with you. Sounds to me like he may have sent you a file , mine stalker said ” hey lets try this ” he sent me a file I opened it only it didn’t open I thought well it didn’t go through , next thing I know he knew every id and password was changing emails and closing them down etc. This was all before when I had windows 98 was new to the net , didn’t know what a firewall was and had trust in people on the net. I was a true NET DUMMIE . What I found out he eventually did was before I had a firewall the ” file” he sent me was actually an invisble keylogger he sent me. That is why went I tried to press open it wouldn’t open. It just sat there so I closed it . I was told these were/ are my solutions since he gained access to my administrative rights on my computer which means ( he can sign on like me ) he knows exactly when I come online everything I’m doing and where I’m at , every id on yahoo and everything I say . Since he gained these rights he then hid the invisible logger or may have even gotten rid of it BUT since he got these rights and got my main IP address off my hardrive or he left a backdoor open so that he can forever get in . The only way to get rid of him is to get a new computer, never sign into my old ids , don’t contact the people I used to know , never go to the sites I went to and make new ids . Also any program that can be downloaded again like aim , yahoo messenger anything that can be downloaded DO NOT SAVE THEM on a disc because you take the risk of transferring them to another computer . Also any files or pictures or anything he can make it so once you download them on your new computer he will again have access anotherwords you have to start over like you were / are completely and totally new to the net.
if you visit the places you used to or talk to the people you talk to now he could get ahold of you again .
I’m sorry this has happened to you but starting over will be the best thing. I CANNOT stress enough that you will have to start over on a NEW COMPUTER with New ids and passwords NOTHING like what your old ones were also remember if you go to anyones house and open up messenger with your ids.. He will also have access to their computer . I am double unlucky because my husband is connect through my computer too he is on a wireless so he has to change everything too. And since I email with family members once I change everything I’m not going to be able to get in contact with them either. 🙁
I learned this the hard way . 🙁
Now I know that a firewall and router are the best way to go . Never ” trust anyone completely on the net . Always be careful and and even with a firewall and router remember if they are good enough they can still gain access , your only options are to take extra precautions once you start over. He will be looking for you and trying to find you once you start over . So please remember don’t go back to everything only go forward.

MemberThanks for your suggestions. All of them are already done.
I installed now Windows XP, means that I formated the harddisc
and I started from the beginning. I tried to send yahoo support
e-mails from an other account, no response from them at all.
Even with a new ID I dont get in touch with my “old friends”.
Is that the END for me regarding yahoo use???July 10, 2004 at 2:59 pm #41993Jeff Hester
KeymasterAs far as a solution yes, if you go back to your OLD ids, if you get in touch with your OLD friends, or the places you USED to visit , he might find you again, my suggestion if you play yahoo games, go to different rooms, if you use yahoo chat rooms, go to different yahoo rooms, just don’t go back to where you used to go . I learned the hard way. I kept redownling all my old things thinking just because I reformatted he couldn’t find me that it would wipe the keylogger off my computer so I was safe to go back to all my old things. I was SO WRONG . I contacted the police, I was told until he steals money out of my banking account there was nothing they could do . I was told to switch isp’s , switch modems, switch computers all of this I did but again stupidly went back to my old ids. he tracked me within minutes. If I were you and you insist on keeping the old ids .. DO not do it from your computer, go to a library log into your old ids NEVER mention your new ones . This way he will think you are still using the old ones and not search for new ones.
Again these are suggestions and experience you do what you feel is right, I just would hate to see another make the same mistake I did.

KeymasterStalking– I hope you reformatted from the discs and Not from the restore that comes with windows xp.. I was told when there is a problem such as someone stalking you its better to reformatt from the original discs and not the quick format that comes with xp. Because he could still have a program on there

MemberI suggest, leaving your new profile blank.
That way he or she doesnt have any actual information to hunt for.
Also make up a screen name that doesnt contain any words that you normally use, or that would make him believe it is you.
