is it possable to have 2 diferent versions of msn messenger installed on the same computer? e.g version 5 & 6
…if so how?
Would you happen to be refering to a copy of Windows Messenger and a copy MSN Messenger both installed on WinXP?
Other than that, no. Not that I’m aware of at least.
According to some other posts made about this subject, you can install one version (say 5.x), then rename the directory in which MSN Messenger is installed. Next install the second version (say 6.0) and then create a new shortcut to the old version. That way you’re supposed to be able to run two versions of MSN Messenger at the same time.
I’ve never tried it, so I can’t say whether or not it will work, but you can give it a try.
i dont want to run to different versions at the same time, i just want them both installed so i can sign out of 1 and into the other quickly. im using windows98se and im looking to install version 4.8, long with the 6.0 i currently have now. at the moment it wont let me
well it comes down to the same thing. You can have both turned on and then log in on one when you want to switch and it’ll sign you out on the other.
well…if u wanna have 2 msn at a time and using polygamy..so click here http://www.optimist.tkand get MSN 6 POLYGAMY..then u can have more than 1 MSN at a time and use them..this one works 100%…
Optimist, polygamy only duplicates the same version, if you read her actual question, she wants two different versions.
Missykitty, your best bet is to try Frutzle’s suggestion, otherwise, as far as I know it can’t be done.
