Hi there…I’m hoping someone can help me here…I have 2 problems…
First is I keep getting a pop that says…”http://ad.doubleclick.net” and then right under that it says…”m1.2mdn.net” This started happeing after the hubby installed yahoo 8 and didn’t want it…so he uninstalled it and now we get this pop up. I have tried running everything to get rid of it and nothing is working…
Second is I can’t figure out how to get my default email to be yahoo…when I go to tools>internet options> on the general page it is set for yahoo to be my default…but when I go to the program tab and pull down the window for email it has microsoft outlook express…msn explorer…outlook express…windows live mail…I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get yahoo there and make it my default email.
I’m hoping somone can help me here. Thank you in advance;)

Here are the instructions on how to make it your default, but it requires Yahoo Messenger and it apparently does not play well with Vista.
To clean malware and tracking cookies from your machine, I’d recommend first running ATF Cleaner to clear temp files, cookies, etc. Then run Malwarebytes. When you install it, be sure to check the boxes on the last page of installation to update and launch MBAM. Then choose a quick scan and remove whatever it finds.
If this does not fix the pop up and ad double-click problem please let me know.
August 4, 2009 at 3:00 pm #175344DoeZMemberI already ran that malwarebytes and ATF…still nothing. My DH said it started after he installed yahoo 8 but then he didn’t want that version so he uninstalled it…Can I just totally uninstall yahoo completely and start fresh? Will he lose any contacts or favoritesif I can do this?
August 5, 2009 at 2:40 am #175346PhilipModeratorHi, also check in your Add/Remove Programs that you don’t have the Yahoo toolbar (if you have it, uninstall it). You might want to download and install Spybot 1.6.2 to scan your system (don’t enable the Tea Timer feature) As always, update the definitions before performing a scan.

I’m not sure what favorites you are referring to.
August 8, 2009 at 11:16 pm #175345DoeZMemberWell I got the yahoo mail to be my default…and when I thought the problem with that pop-up was done…I started getting it again. So I don’t know what to do now…I have ran everything…spybot S&D-spyware blaster-AdAware-malwarebytes-superantispyware-ATF Cleaner-CCleaner-Avast…I even cleaned the computer in safe mode like I was told…still here. Any other ideas?
