Is there a way to have a 3-way voice conversation via MSN Messenger?
January 7, 2003 at 2:01 pm #65208DJHyperbyteMemberThere isn’t, AFAIK.
January 7, 2003 at 4:17 pm #65204AnnaParticipantIt’s been a long time since I’ve found a use for netmeeting (2 years? lol)
But from what I can remember – it was possible in netmeeting (somehow… I swear it was). Anybody want to jump the boat here?January 7, 2003 at 5:44 pm #65206twistedmetalMemberTry checking out this web site. It might be what your looking for.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page that Geeker linked to there is a section on a trick that claims to allow you to do a three-way (or more?)voice chat, but it’s a bit complicated. It requires that everyone is using Windows XP and in addition to Windows Messenger, they must also be running MSN Messenger with a different account. It would look something like this:
Jeff (Windows Messenger) -> voice to <- Dee (Windows Messenger)
Jeff2 (MSN Messenger) -> voice to <- Steven (MSN Messenger)
Steven2 (Windows Messenger) -> voice to <- Kim (Windows Messenger)
Dee2 (MSN Messenger) -> voice to <-Kim2 (MSN Messenger)Would everyone be able to hear everyone else? Probably not too well, if at all. But you would be able to hear at least two other particpants pretty well. Probably wouldn’t work well over a dial-up connection, either.
If someone tests this and gets it working, I’d love to hear back from you!
