MemberDoes anyone else have problems with the new version? It doesn’t sign on the first time, then it does the second time. Then a window pops up staying report error after reporting error the msn closes. I had to uninstall the new version and put the 6.2 back. Anyone know if there is viruses for the new version or something. I went to the messenger web site and I don’t see the issue I have problem with. That’s the only 2 things I did not like about the new msn. It won’t sign on the first time and a report error comes up.

KeymasterI’ve installed the final version of MSN Messenger 7.0 on three different PCs (all running Windows XP Pro) and had no problems with any features on any of those computers.
Describe a few more details about your configuration. What operating system are you running? Do you have any add-ons installed? Does it always have the same problem when you try to run it?

KeymasterI have the same problem sensitive. I try logging in to MSN Messenger and it takes me about three times for it to finally connect. Then if my dsl line drops and I have to reconnect again, it takes ages. When it disconnects I get error after error reports stating how “A conversation with so and so could not be started” and this is while it’s signing back in. It’s very weird. I didn’t even have this problem with the beta version. Then again with my stupid DSL line always dropping I can’t even tell if it is my internet or my msn that’s causing the trouble.

MemberJeff,
I have windows 98. I don’t think I have add-ons. I install it yesterday and since then it gives an error window there is problem click on Fix to report. When I do that afterwards the messenger closes. So, I had to uninstall it and reinstall the 6.2 which I never had problems with 6.2 and hope I won’t. This is only thing I did NOT like about messenger 7 full version. I don’t why they don’t warn about the bug.

Whenever i click on msn 7 i get an “MSN Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close” dialogue box. Annoying. I think i too may have to switch back to 6.2 if this tomfoolery continues…

MemberHi there, I’m having similar problems with MSN Messenger 7.0, and after consulting MSN support and being asked a million questions I can’t answer since my copy of Windows XP is pirated, I decided to just revert to Messenger 6.2.
The problem is I can’t find it anywhere. Do you still have it? Would you be willing to send it to me, perhaps over Windows Messenger or as an email attachment? I would really appreciate it, thanks.David

Diony i have the same problem so i had to reinstall 6.2 but when signing into msn i had to upgrade to a newer 6.2 randomly so basically installing one version of it then the next when you sign in. I have since reinstalled one of the msn 7 betas because it’s less boring lol. Anyway hope this helps im still trying to find out why the official msn don’t work on my computer.

MemberHey, I just downloaded MSN Messenger 7.0 (without the Beta) and it won’t let me in, it comes up with error code: 80072ee7.
I do have a firewall, and usually when I turn it off it works, but I can’t do that at the moment because only my dad knows the password for out Norton, so I really need a way to fix it without having to disable the firewall!
If you could help that’d be great!
Thanks, Anita xxx

MemberIs bloody 7.0 working for anyone??? I’ve gone back to using 6.2 and will stay with it until MS gets around to fixing this — probably sometime around the turn of the next millenium.
