…when I access Hotmail? I don’t understand the logic to have it load automatically anyway.
April 27, 2005 at 10:41 pm #120526MartinBradleyMemberHmm, I suspect you may mean Windows Messenger. In which case, try the link below.
April 27, 2005 at 11:16 pm #120524MistahManParticipantNope I meant Msn Messenger. Whenever I access Hotmail through the website, Messenger loads.
April 28, 2005 at 2:02 am #120529cowlickMemberThe logic is that if the person who sent you the email has a Passport and they are signed in with Messenger, instead of replying via e-mail you can reply with IM.
I personally find annoying but the only way you can stop it from happening is to uninstall Messenger or use a non-IE-based browser such as Netscape, Firefox, or Opera.
April 28, 2005 at 2:44 am #120525MistahManParticipantYeah… I think that should be my choice tho if I want to use msn or e-mail to answer tho. I hate Microsoft for things like that.
May 1, 2005 at 3:31 am #120530cowlickMemberYeah… I also hate how they stopped taking you to your e-mail when you sign in and instead show that stupid “Today” page… I thought that’s what MSN.com was for! Don’t you think if I signed in at Hotmail that I want my e-mail?! Same goes for Yahoo Mail.

May 2, 2005 at 2:20 am #120528HasanMemberYou have option to turn off MSN and Yahoo today in their respective messaging clients.
And there is no point in showing you the same empty mailbox when you dont have any new messages whereas MSN/Yahoo today are sort of news pages with new content everyday for you it might not be interesting enough or i’m sure you never gave it a try but hey…if you really hate Microsoft; you should be using linux 🙂May 5, 2005 at 10:58 pm #120531cowlickMemberif you’re looking for another message or you need to re-read there is plenty of reason not to show me a stupid page I didn’t want to download anyways. Not all of us have super fast connections, you know. (well I do at home but not at school, it’s dog slow there because of all the file sharing)
And I never said I hated Microsoft. Well I kind of wish they would make a better Mac Messenger, the new (use that one loosely) 5.0 sounds like nothing. “Desktop” Linux can rot; that’s for another thread.
