MemberI have several AIM screen names. I have different ones for family, friends, online groups, and business. Last week I was at a relative’s house using their computer and I used two screen names to log into AIM (not at the same time). I recently tried signing in to AIM with those two screen names and I received the message that my account was suspended. All my other screen names work fine except for the ones that I used at the relative’s house. I’ve tried going to AOL’s website and using the forgot your password form which sends your password to your email address but I never got the email. I tried using the verify you’re older than 13 links but they came up saying that I have entered an invalid screen name. I tried creating a new screen name using the old one but it says that name is already in use.
I suspect there was a keylogger or trojan on the relative’s computer that stole my password and someone changed it or something considering that all my other screen names work. How can I go about getting my screen names back? Does anyone know what could’ve happened? I find it very odd.
The only other thing I can think of is that while I was at the relative’s house, when I first tried to logon to AIM I kept getting an error message that the service couldn’t be reached. I ended up reinstalling AIM which fixed the login problem. I’m wondering if something in the AOL/AIM database got screwed up or something when that happened.
I forgot to mention that the one screen name is under a Yahoo email account. And under that account I have two screen names, the one screen name is the one I used to sign it at the relative’s house. The other screen name I didn’t use. AIM will not let me use either of those two screen names plus the other screen name from a different email account. I hope that made some sort of sense.

MemberAfter thinking about it a little more, It does seem unlikely that someone could’ve gotten my password. But why then is it that just the screen names that I used at the relatives aren’t working?
The relative does have AOL and I did use my AIM screen names while using the relative’s AOL account (I had permission to do so and have done it before). After I was done using AIM, I deleted the screen name files off the computer. Maybe this caused a problem somwehere. I don’t see why that would be a problem. The relative isn’t having any trouble with AOL. Seems very strange to me. It isn’t a huge deal but I’d still like to know what happened.
It would be nice to know if someone got my password as that would indicate security problems. It would also be nice to prevent this from happening again. -
