Sunnyvale company Actiontec today introduced Kid Defender 1.1, a new version of their Internet monitoring software that lets parents keep tabs on their kids’ web activity.
Kid Defender 1.1 lets parents monitor online activity from any Internet connection, even remotely. It allows parents to prevent their kids from viewing inappropriate web sites and eavesdrop on their surfing history, instant messaging and chat room conversations in real-time. Parents can cut off inappropriate activity with one click.
The software also allows more conventional controls like a blacklist with the ability to add or delete sites and blocking specific IM screen names.
The software is available at retail stores or online from http://www.kiddefender.com for $39.95. The price includes a one-year subscription for real-time monitoring of up to two children by two parents. Licenses for real-time monitoring of additional children are available for $9.95 per child, per year.
