Membercurtisg43228, posting two topics for the same question is not going to get your answer any faster. If you wanted to move it from BBB help to Yahoo messenger or the opposite you can contact a moderator and they will move it for you. And if your program just stopped working it might have been patched.

MemberI assume by Add Buddier he means some lamer arse program badly coded in VB that adds you to other peoples buddy lists without them knowing. Have to laugh seeing how all it does is use the web page that you use to manage your buddy list. If I’m right then the reason it stopped working is the same reason YahELite had problems logging in recently and thats because Yahoo! removed the buddy config pages from their servers.

MemberI’ve seen many of these programs.
But I have to ask myself what their point is, they are literally:
A VB Form.
A IE control in the Form
A few buttons to set the IE control’s URL.That’s all, I would be wary of the program’s intentions. I have seem them for deny a buddy as well as “chat clients” which are nothing more than the Java Client being loaded up in the IE control. They don’t offer anything more than manually typing the URL into IE.
As I have said in previous posts, the functions wont work anymore, Yahoo! are removing the HTTP methods for this type of thing, which like I also said before, appears that YCHT is probably ready to go (this is the protocol Java uses by the way).

MemberWant a slap Freddy?
Trying to make out I used IE control in my Buddy Manager program 😡 as if I’d be that sloppy. And I said this was part of them killing YCHT off first ya plagarist. Who do you think you are nicking my comments? Next you’ll be making webpages with Frontpage.
ps. These functions do work if you actually know what you’re doing. Which is why a load of these programs and web based buddy stuff have been removed. The makers just copied others work and don’t understand it.
So the question is do I update my Buddy Manager so it works again?

ParticipantCarbonize – Dude, take it easy. Freddy was simply elaborating on your point, no need to get hostile. There is no reason to threaten ANY member of this forum, whether you are kidding or not. Freddy has stated the fact that YCHT may be removed soon in few previous posts. Have a look through all the posts where Freddy mentions YCHT before accusing. Besides, this forum is about sharing knowledge, not about claiming who came up with which opinion first. C’mon man, thats just childish. We do appreciate any knowledge you can provide our members with, but please respect our members and follow our Forum Policies and Guidelines. Thanks for your compliance, and chill out.

Membersorry about the double posting, and guys please dont argue the add buddier is a program that lets you add people to your buddy list without them knowing,i started to wonder if it could have been because i have yahoo 5.6 now and maybe it was made for 5.5? could that be a possibility?

LOL I was being sarcastic. I’ve known Freddy for ages and we have both been the victim of other sites/people stealing credit for our work. My posting was a p**s take.
Curtis at a guess the program would of actually used bog standard HTTP to add the people via the now dead buddy config web page. If it used YMSG such as mesenger the other person would get a message but due to a screw up by Yahoo they don’t if added via the web page. This is how my buddy manager wors/worked anyways. I would fix buddy manager but my VB6 keeps kicking up an error 🙁

MemberI think another question you have to ask yourself do you have the right to add people without their knowledge?
I can’t think of a valid reason you would want to do this, if someone doesn’t want themselves on your list, they probably have a good reason for it.
carbonize, try using a proper programming language;)
