is there an addon to make aim signoff when you go idle?
if you set up your power saving options to hibernate or shutdown when away from your computer (at least on windows) it will cut all your connections and therefore sign you off. an added bonus is that you’ll be saving the environment (and lots of money depending on where you live) by not wasting energy. 🙂 Just remember to set your aim client to show idle time earlier than you set your computer to hibernate or shutdown or standby.
I don’t want my entire computer to shutdown.. just aim to sign off.
The only thing I can think of offhand would be to detect the status of the computers screen saver (active/inactive) or the LockWorkStation state, then kill the aim process accordingly… that wouldn’t have to be an aim add-on.
But as for something like this already existing, I haven’t seen anything.
is their software already designed to kill processes when the screensaver is active?
or would I have to write something myself to make it do that?
cause I have no idea how to do that.
