Has anyone here actually tried this?
July 13, 2009 at 6:08 am #174253Jeff HesterKeymasterHi, I usually use SweetIM software application to easily post emoticons and other icons to any social media site. An additional FYI: SweetIM’s emoticons, smileys and pictures also work in other Web based applications including forums, blogs and emails. Usually, we need to copy and paste HTML or link codes to post emoticons but SweetIM makes it very easy to do this.

I have tried them in the past – specifically SweetIM – and I personally had so many conflicts and problems I had to remove the program. Not unlike some security software, it left traces of itself all over my machine and proved to be a huge hassle to remove.
Every user is entitled to do what they want, but there are much safer ways to obtain emoticons than by utilizing SweetIM. While SweetIM has thus far managed to avoid the title of malware, before you use it, do a Google and see what former users have to say about it – you may be unpleasantly surprised.

There are plenty of ways to get individual emoticons or emoticons developed for the specific IM application that won’t put malware and adware on your machine.
