MemberTry moving your photos off of Yahoo (i.e. Save them in your “My Pictures” folder on your hard drive) and then use something like Photo Suite to “Resave” them in a .jpg This might work and trick Yahoo! into thinking that it’s not the same photo and they might let you save it. It might not work…but it’s worth a try. It worked for me.

MemberI am having the same problem. I use Adobe PhotoShop 5.5 to save my pics as small JEPG’s & all I get is an “X” where the pic should be. One thing I have noticed is that if I go to my Yahoo Photo Album, the pic shows up just fine & dandy… it just will not appear on the profile page. Does anyone have any suggestions… I thought it was just me!! Thanks in advance. 🙂

MemberHaving the same problem here as are many of my friends. We can choose pics that we have had in there awhile but any new pics we add wont show on profile. They are in the photo album when we check by just looking in our Yahoo Photo Album. So they do get uploaded. Im sure now this is a Yahoo problem and as we always do just have to wait for them to fix it.

MemberFor what it is worth, I went to Yahoo’s Help page & reported this issue. Maybe they are in the holiday spirit & will actually send a reply!!

MemberI’m having the same problem here. Only difference is that I can add a picture to an account that’s never had a picture added before. Yahoo asks for a code to be entered (they give you the code)..on an exsisting account that’s had pictures, it doesn’t ask for this code…therefore I can’t add a new photo. any other ideas???

MemberThe gist of all of this is basically Yahoo!’s cgi bin is not throwing out the correct links to display images people upload to the servers for their profiles. To prove this is
why the images are not showing : http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/c1f125ad/bc/Yahoo%21+Photo+Album/Steve+Pic—10.jpg?pfPdTx_A6C4XDMrE is the actual image url to the broken picture… When Steve uploads his picture it spits out the wrong link creating a broken image. Now, yes this will only happen to the profiles and it wont effect the photo album’s pictures ect. If you try going to the url you will see it is just an invalid Yahoo! web page. Nothing you can do, Yahoo! will have to solve this one when they can.

MemberJust to let everyone know… Yahoo actually responded to me & the pic problem has been corrected!! You just need to go in & delete what you currently had as a pic & then re-upload. Apparently they were working on the Photo Album pages & it affected the profiles. Anyway, mine is fine now!!

MemberAnyone check out Yahoo Photos lately? Oh yeah they been working on it!!!! Got a new look etc. I figured our problem had something to do with them switching things around. The red X’s come from broken picture links and with us getting that I figured went we loaded them Yahoo had them go some place else. Which in return gave us the broken link. Ladybug I had try’d deleting the new pics just shortly after they were loaded but they would not dlelete. Ill try now maybe its working now cuz Yahoo is done moving files? Glad to hear its working for you, wish Us all luck now.

MemberThis is what worked for me… Log into your account & go to “Edit Picture”. Delete the pic shown & it will take you back to your profile page. THEN, go to Your Photos. In my case I have 2… an album that I share with friends only & then the one Yahoo creates for you (this is where any profile pics you have added are automatically stored). Yahoo changed the delete process. You have to check the box below the pic to remove & then try right clicking it to find the delete option. You are then asked if you are sure you want to delete… say yes. I did all of this & completely purged my Yahoo Album. Once it was all done, then I went & added my profile pic essentially starting with a clean plate. It has been fine ever since.

MemberHello,
I was having the same problem when uploading a pic for my profile. It may not be a problem with your picture, but a problem with yahoo. Click on the red X, it may read URL not found. My picture uploaded, but yahoo was redirecting it to Yahoo photo Album instead. Go to the help area and type in your problem. You may want to upload a picture and check the yahoo photo album and see if it’s there. If so, put that in your help info as well. Within a few days, Yahoo sent me an e-mail notification that the problem was fixed and it was. Give it a try, it may work for you. Good Luck.

MemberI am now having a problem when I go to edit my picture Im not given the choice of using a photo from my Yahoo Photo Album. Only choices are to upload a picture from my PC or choose one of Yahoo’s pictures from thier gallery or to delete current picture. I wrote Yahoo about this and waiting for a reply. I just wondered if anyone else had this happening.

MemberThis is what I explained b4. Yahoo knows about the broken links & they know about the albums… I have already gotten a response from them. To get a pic to load, purge the Yahoo Album first. Do NOT do it from the edit profile page. Once the pics are deleted, THEN you can add by uploading from your PC. In my case I have 2 albums. One for friends & family which has pics NOT on my profile & then I have the Yahoo Album that is created automatically when you put pics on your profile. This is the album to purge!!
It is a PITA, but it gets everything working as it should!!!
