MemberJust wanted to see if there were any updates to this.
I do not own a hotmail account, i used MSN strictly for work and personal use. I have moved on and started using another nick, but i wanted to delete the account all together – not just uninstalling the program nor changing the pass to something i will never remember nor doing a registry surgical process.
i just want to delete the AIM somehow. i’m unable to find a link on MSN.com to disable/cancel/delete the account forever.
bluntly, i dont want this account active in any way, shape, or form.
is this even possible?
any other ways? any new ways? any successful ways?
i’ve read about the 90 day inactivity purge. is this still valid? or does this only apply to the email accounts?
thanks!

Memberhi, thanks. i actually did try those instructions.
oddly, i’m in the same boat as sarahtowny.i closed the MSN account as you instructed.
To completely remove and delete an MSN Messenger/.NET Passport account:1) Visit Here
2) Sign in to your.NET Passport by clicking the Sign In button in the top right corner.
3) You will be presented with an account services page. Click Customer Support.
4) Another sub-page should be displayed, showing a link, “Close your account”. Follow the instructions on that page.
But just minutes after, i did a test. for the email, you are correct. it says that it has been delted. and to reactivate, to click soe link. so, i agree with this portion.then i tried logging into my MSN messeger. and it let me in, with all my contacts still in place. any advice?

MemberAh ha. I see you posted the same question in the thread I linked to. I’m going to close this thread – could all questions and answers please be directed to the thread linked to below, as it essentially deals with the same problem. If we have two threads going on the same problem, it would only become confusing. Thanks 🙂

EDIT – In response to the messages you left me on Yahoo! No, I do not know any alternative ways of deleting an MSN Messenger Account. If someone does know, they will refer to the thread above and let you know. Please give people time to reply to your questions, as this is a forum, and not a real time chatroom, replies can take minutes, hours, or days. Thanks. -
