Just looking for opinions… is the AIM 5.1 worth my download? I am currently running 4.7… just wondering. Thanks
I personally lik 5.1 .. just cause of the added color
If you’re still using 4.7, I would definately update to 5.1 or 5.2 at that matter. Major improvements and new features.
Only reason I’m asking, is because it seems from what I have been reading… there isn’t a way to really modify 5.1 – 5.2 as freely as 4.7 or 4.8… Anyone know?
If you’re into modifying AIM or using add-ons, you might think twice before upgrading. For example, one of the most popular add-ons, AIM+, is not compatible with AIM 5.x.
Well I loaded 5.2 onto one of my computers to try it out and see… I set up that AIM Forwarding thing… Anyone know if that dumb auto msg can be changed:
Your IM has been forwarded to my cell phone and, although I can read your messages, I cannot reply. Thanks for your IM! Want your IMs forwarded to your cell phone? Click here.
Is this just one of the little annoying AOL product plugs that we can’t get rid of, anyone know?
I have a suggestion…if you dont want to loose your AIM 4.7, download and install AIM 5.x but whenever you select the folder to install it into (the default is AIM95) simply change the name, then you can open whichever version you choose…providing that you close one version before opening the next
Good Idea, Thanks Spiderman… You saved the day again:)
