Hello all, ive been wondering for quite a long time which one is better or at least “which one would you use.” and why.
Trillian is cleaner, no ads, very skinnable. AIM has all the features advailable to AIM in it. Its pretty much impossible to tell you which one is better, but if you only want to chat, and something customizable for looks, then Trillian will be good for you, it just doesn’t support most of the features that the AIM client does.
I’ve used those all-in-one messengers before. They all lack functionality. I stick with AIM and MSNM.
edit: I’ve installed Trillian for use with my ICQ and Yahoo! accounts. But I’ll still use AIM and MSNM for my regular IMing.
Trillian can be a very much a pain. Every couple of months companies release new connection protocols and you have to patch your program so it can still connect. And other times for no reason it wont connect at all. I think that its to much of a pain and that its easier just to use GAIM or each of the companies actual programs.
