Did they limit the size of profiles in the upgrade? When I initially switched from 5.9 to 6.0, and used the same profile (which worked fine on 5.9) on each, I had to shorten it a lot to get it to work for 6.0. In other words, to get it to work in 6.0, I had to take out pretty much half of it. Now, any time I try to edit it, each time I open the window it tells me I’ve exceeded the character limit… even though I havn’t touched anything.
Well, at least I know AOL is still making these programs. Last time I checked, 5.9 allowed something like 2048 characters of text (including html code)March 3, 2007 at 4:51 am #158872nyywrldchampsMemberActually…I’ve had the problem where on 5.9 AIM would say my profile was too big, but when i went to AIM 6.0, I could add additional text to my profile and it allowed it. Even today, I have a ton of pictures in my profile due to the AIM 6.1 ability now.
Thats AOL for you :woot:

From my view of the new AIM, I’ve concluded that the profile information is the same. It counts by the number of characters, the different colors used, the specific types of fonts, and links. One time I had posted a large amount of characters in my profile, and then when I went to change it, it automatically told me that it was too long. This comes to prove that the AIM system is constantly changing and unable to track how large or small your profile is allowed to be. You could try waiting a few days, then going back, and there is a possibilty that you might be able to keep everything in your old profile. Good luck!
