First off, did you recently upgrade to AIM 7.2 or did you just recently start having problems signing on? It’s important to know when you were last able to successfully sign on, and what version you were using.
Second, do you have another account that you can test, or can you create one? Doesn’t have to be one that you’ll keep or use, just something to help us debug. If you can sign on with one account but not the other, that points to a problem with the one account rather than your computer configuration.

May 25, 2010 at 8:28 pm #176777Doris KenneyParticipantThis is a shot in the dark, but what happens if you try right-clicking the icon, choose Properties, Compatibility and change the program to run in XP mode?
If it doesn’t help you can always change it back.
May 25, 2010 at 11:54 pm #176783Orial87Membernope that didn’t work either. :- i mean if i could find a way to go back to my aim before the update i’d be fine but i can’t find a way to find that either. *sigh* :- so frustrating….

http://www.filehippo.com/download_aim/history/
Whenever I want to update AIM to a new version, I always download the full AIM installer rather than use AIM’s autoupdate feature as it sometimes doesn’t update properly.Currently using AIM 7.3 on my XP SP3 computer and my mom’s Vista SP2 laptop and AIM 7.3 works fine.
