Good luck 🙂January 18, 2005 at 12:50 am #73832tylongMembermy school has done the same thing to me with out laptop program but they havent stopped us from using aim in school..
I would recomend using a different port to connect (53 or 443) or using a proxy server to connect(http port #1360) these all work for me u should give them a try…
to change these settings go to edit preferences, sign on/off, connection

**remember tho if they have programs such as netops installed on the computer ur using at school they can watch what ur doin so i would recomend checkin that be4 u do anything**
January 18, 2005 at 1:17 am #73823Someguy03MemberYou can also use a proxy. In the same place you change the AIM connection settings do this:
Check the “Connect using proxy” box in AIM and then get a proxy here: http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list
Take the “IP Address” from the website I provided and put it in the “Host” box in AIM, and take the port from the website and put it in the port box in AIM. I think that you use “SOCKS 4” as the protocal, but it might be “HTTP”

January 18, 2005 at 2:04 am #73829Jorgey007Memberwell my lovely school *ugh* is retarded. they blocked everything with the words ‘chat’ or ‘aim’ in its URL. they blocked downloads and stuff like that too. so any other ideas on how to get online at school? if not its cool…
school sucks:mad:
January 18, 2005 at 2:29 am #73827CronusParticipantTry taking it in on a disk/drive
January 18, 2005 at 1:44 pm #73833tylongMemberYea a thumb drive that will support the aim application is very cheap…go in on it with some of ur friends or sumthin….u could also use a proxy server to redirect u over the internet.. like http://www.ebypass.org

January 21, 2005 at 3:57 am #73834ArsenalParticipantTry http://www.pureprivacy.com , it’s basically a proxy for noobs. It works well, scroll down to the bottom, type in the adress of AIM Express and it should work.
