Using AIM 6.0 with MS Vista. I always changed the default AIM sound for receiving an IM because I hate all AIM sounds, and that’s the only one I use. I use one of XP’s old sounds called notify.wav. So I made a copy of this file, moved it into the AIM directory, and declared that as my chosen sound in AIM preferences. It works for a while then somehow, AIM keeps defaulting back to it’s original imrcv.wav sound. Anyone have this problem?
I even renamed notify.wav to imrcv.wav and that worked for a while, but again, AIM changed it’s default receive sound to a different sound. Why on earth is it doing this?
I don’t have a Vista machine to try out, but maybe someone else can chime in if they have Vista.
You could hop onto the message boards here: OS is Vista -Comments, Questions, Concerns – AOL Message Boards
since there seem to be some issues specifically with Vista.
