I just picked up a wireless card for my iPaq. I wanted to install AIM on the thing, but according to AOL’s page, they want 20 bucks for the software!
Is there any free software out there that will run on my iPaq?
Well I dont know if Im allowed to share this but, you can always use Kazaa’s software or iMesh’s software options. (there might be others just search on http://www.download.com) Just make sure a SOB doesnt give you a trojan insted. 🙂
Are you certain they are charging? According to this page on AOL’s web site, it’s available for free for both Windows CE and PocketPC.
I also found several versions of AIM for PocketPC available for download here at ZDNet.
Thanks, Jeff, but that link points to a folder that no longer exists on AOL’s FTP server.
I checked out those ZDnet links, and the only AIM ones for my iPaq pointed to the same dead link on AOL’s ftp server.
Here’s the site where they want my money for the client:

I went looking for the latest Palm version a few months ago and found that the Palm software was no longer free either. The solution (at the time) was to search download sites for old versions of the software.
