I am having a major problem with aim 6.1 automatically disconnecting and reconnecting. I have windows xp, internet explorer, and comcast cable internet service with a motorola modem. It all used to work fine until about 1 month ago. I have no problem logging onto aim, but once logged on EVERY 5-10 minutes I notice that for some reason it is doing a very quick log off and then log back on automatically (does this whole process in about 2-3 sec)….I am not having to log back on, it just automatically does it. When this happens it gives an error: connection interupted.
I also have aim 5.9 on my computer as well and have been monitoring this activity from one sn to the other sn to see how long it is logged on for and it is showing that the sn is only logged on for about 5-8 minutes and then goes back to 1 minute. Not only is this automatic logging in and out occuring on 6.1 but also on 5.9. I have already downloaded the 6.1 again and this still continues. I have not actually uninstalled and reinstalled aim yet.
I did have the cable company come out and check my connection to the internet and they said everything was fine. Also, while i am on the internet i do not loose connection.
Any suggestions as to what is causing this or how to fix it???

Also it used to be just AIM did this but I’ve recently started using the Last.fm desktop player and it seems that the stream from it dies at the same time AIM does.

Also AIM will still work when it is signed on but view buddy info required loading (that turns out to give you nothing) and sending IMs are possible but recieving them causes AIM to sign off and back on, and you recieve an offline message if that friend IMs you back. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING.
PLEASE HELP
