Please bare with me as I am not sure how to explain this but I’ll do my best. I am using Aim the newest version but will occascionally talk to people who are using AOL. When they IM me there AOL expresssion/im invironment thingy shows up on my IM window and makes the thing real big and ugly. Is there anyway to refuse there expression, to shut it off so I dont have to see it? Do you understand what I mean? Thanks for your help,
Evan
Yes.. It’s in your AIM Prefs .. (press F3 on the main buddylist thingie).. under “AIM Expressions” there’s an option that says “Show AIM Expressions From Others”.. uncheck it, push apply.. and you’re on your way
It is unchecked and that says aim expressions anyways, I am talking about aol users. Thanks for the help though!
i had that problem to, but I checked that check box and clicked apply, and then unchecked it and click apply agaibn and I never seen the expressions again 🙂 maybe it will work for you 🙂
I tried that thanks
i’m having the exact oppposite problem… (nobody at all can see my expression) could that be because im behind a firewall or would something else conflict with it
nismo06, if you did not download an official AIM expression from AOL then it will not show up on your friends IM, only yours.
LuckyHeart1281, I dont know what to tell you. If I figure out, i’ll be sure to post a message.

You must be either subscribed you AIM Expressions (costs money) or be an AOL member in order for people to see YOUR expressions.
LuckyHeart1281, I would try reinstalling AIM and disable expressions. That would reset everything.
