AIM Expressions Not Displaying

I am running AIM 5.9.3861. I was running AIM 5.5 and I upgraded to this version. I was able to see buddy icons and other smiley sets with this. Then when I upgraded, I lost that ability. I tried several versions, but I still can not see the graphic smileys, they all show up as plain text. I also can not view other AIM users buddy icons even though I have allowed them in the Settings menu. I tried the new AIM Triton as well, and still couldnt solve the issue. Is there any solution to this? Thanks in advance.

I am having this same problem. My friends say they can see the smiley that I send, but I can’t see theirs OR mine! Come on people, help us!
