using aim 5.2.3277 and windows xp, what folder does aim put all the buddy icons in?
idk but like i knwo that aim like makes certain things into there own file types like i remember readin abotu chagine teh extensions at the end of a file on the aim95 folder to like .zip and itl let u open it with winzip
You would think that they would store the icons on their server. This would prevent People from deleting or changing the icons and thus corrupting aim. Does anyone have any other ideas of where the icons might be stored?
In older versions of AIM I do know that these icons were .id files placed in
C:WINDOWSApplication DataAimSCREENNAME under Windows 98SE. It appears I no longer have such files with AIM 5.2^ for a while now. I do believe AIM keeps them on their own server now because these files can no longer be found on my computer. Look at your preferences when you are signed off AIM and you will find that you cannot access these buddyicons as well.
great, thank you very much 🙂
