I have AIM version 5.5 and recently I have been having trouble with message lagging. Whenever I send a message to someone it lags for about 3-4 seconds then sends the message. I have a cable connection, 512 RAM and cpu usage is never above 15% I have tried downgrading to ver 5.1, changing the AIM port, scanned for viruses and adware, all to no avail. if anyone else is having the same problem or better yet, has a solution to the problem, please help ASAP
got a router?
Yeah I have a router. many ppl have told me that routers break down pretty fast. ive had mine for about 3 months. could this be the problem?
yeah I had my router for about a month before it started messing with my connections. we sent it back and it ended up being a defective router. I suggest getting a new one if no one else knows of a way for you to fix it. I just sent away for a new one.
evidently I do not have a router-oops. I thought a router was actually a splitter. time warner used one jack to connect us to both cable tv and to road runner. 🙁
sorry about that mix up…what else do you think the problem may be?
today aim is actually sending it but until the little beep noise sounds, everything else is frozen. just cant win with this damn thing!
I feel your pain, I have the same problem, and many others do. Nobody seems to know a solution or why it is happening.
