Please help – my AIM is not starting (even though it used to) on any of the computers in our house – we use wireless and our internet is working, but not AIM. We can all log in at other places, but no one can log in at our house. We have tried uninstalling it and downloading newer versions, but nothing seems to help. Oh, it looks like it’s logging on – it goes through all steps, but when it gets to starting services, an error message comes up that says buddy list is temporarily unavailable but it has not been lost or destroyed.
I am having a similar problem, well not me, but a friend. It started when he dl’d 5.5. Same things happensas descibed above, only we get an unable to access AIM server. Try again later message (or something to that effect) We also tried to uninstall/reinstall and even tried to dl an older version and neither worked. Any ideas???
Same here, and I have a wireless network too. I got it to start, but it takes a few minutes and it is driving me crazy.
i had a friend come and try to fix the problem and he said our wireless system wasn’t recognizing my computer and that I had a weird IP address. He changed a few things with our computers on the linksys website and it started to work, unfortuantely it stopped working again a few hours later, and it still won’t owrk, so I have no clue…..I’ll let ya know if I figure anything out….
