I’m not really sure how that would work, but I just figured I’d spread the word just to be safe (or to see if any of you have heard of it)
I virus cannot be spread in text form, you would need to download it.
August 2, 2004 at 2:01 am #49252gossipingraeMemberhey everyone, I was just reading some of the forums, and I had that best friends worm on my computer…see the worm/virus was in my friend’s away message and I clicked it and it was then on my computer…i had a topic posted a few days ago devoted to it…not sure if any of you read it…but I wish I would have looked around before posting, lol. the thing is though, it didnt put up those annoying away messages for me, it just logged my aim on and off every 10 mins if I wasnt talking.

Get rid of all the processes that you know are not used by the PC (for working your PC, system stuff really). If you notice a process that comes back (and isn’t needed by windows) whenever you delete it, look for that filename in startup.
Remember: A virus cannot do anything to your pc unless it’s running, and virusses only run (after you log off/on) if they get into startup. If they’re not in startup, they can’t run, and can easily be deleted.
A good startup program is at http://www.mlin.net. It’s called startup CPL. It lets you manage registry startup aswell as user startup. Delete suspisious files from there, log off, and back on, and then the virus will no longer be in your processes.
Then delete the suspicious files/folders/registry enteries from your pc.
That is the best way to deal with any and all virusses. As for spyware and trojans, you need virus/adware/spyware removal tools for those as they leave holes in your pc for hackers to get into.
