MemberHello all, I have a question. It seems that everytime i am on for exactly 24 hours, aim signs me off. It’s like exactly at the 24 hour mark i loose connection, or something, and it signs me off. I just wanted to know why this is happening, since it never happened with the old aim versions. I have look all through the preferences and nothing is there that would possible indicate why this is happeing, would appreciate some help! Thank you!

MemberI doubt alana’s router was defective, it was probably just set to change her IP address every 24 hours.

Participantumm it was defective. it had finally taken its toll on the computer and made the internet stop working. we thought it was the internet provider but they said that it was Dell and so we called Dell and they said it was Linksys and when we called Lynksys they put us thorugh all these tests and finally came to the conclusion it was the router. we had to send it bak and they are sending us a new one. we havent gotten ther new one yet but without the router my aim is working perfectly fine now. so there ya go.

ParticipantDoes this happen at a certain time every day, or just 24Hrs after you sign into AIM?
Like, does it happen every day at 4AM?
You could go to http://showmyip.org, write it down, then once your kicked from AIM, do it again and see if the numbers match.
It could be your ISP as well.
