We have added a lot of new things in this release:
* File Transfer
* SuperBuddies
* Wallpaper
* Plugin Settings
* Aim TodayAnd fixed some bugs:
* Performance Improvements
* Smaller fonts for buddies in the BL so you can see more of them
* You can now see offline buddies in each group via View->Offline->Show In GroupsI hope everyone checks it out…and if you have comments or suggestions please visit my blog and leave a comment. Some of the fixes not mentioned in the list above were thanks to people emailing me or leaving comments on my blog.

September 2, 2005 at 3:32 am #129292dreadMember1.0.18.1?
September 2, 2005 at 5:50 am #129301Eagle_KiwiMemberI would be trying it like a shot… but only IF/WHEN it is packaged as ONLY the “IM”, WITHOUT forcing AOL Browser onto me too. 😡

September 2, 2005 at 6:31 am #129293dreadMemberI know on their site they say its version 0.5.15 just wondering lol.

The differences between their installer and ours are as follows:
*Installs AIM Ad Hack based upon AIM Triton registry entry
*Blocks AOL Browser Install
*Optionally install AIM Triton before running AIM Ad Hack
*Adds no ads option to preferences
*Allows for installation onto Windows 2000
*Fixed their disappearing tray icon bug (XP only)September 4, 2005 at 12:39 am #129302Eagle_KiwiMemberSorry Raul .. I think you miss my point.
Sure, I COULD get hold of this new AIM WITH browser, then uninstall the browser.
Or … I think I’ve seen elsewhere someone who’s made a cut-down version, but I will not deign to use it until it is OFFICIALLY released (i.e. direct by AOL) without the “extras”.Don’t mind me … I just violently object to spyware, adware, AND unwanted software, on principle.
September 4, 2005 at 12:50 am #129298RustyMemberI am happy with 5.9.3797.

Amen, I downloaded and then I saw that browser, so I hit unistall, and then it goes “unistall successful, please hit OK to restart”. I didn’t want/need to restart, but there was no other choice! Then when you “exit” Triton, it stays open, hides the icon now, you have to kill the 20 MBs of RAM SUCKAGE that it, well, sucks!September 4, 2005 at 2:43 am #129291f0rbezMemberEagle_Kiwi wrote:Sorry Raul .. I don’t know how likely that is. They thrive off jamming software down your throat. I can understand they want to promote their own product. But I think that they MUST at least give you the option of whether or not you want to install all the other software. This includes viewpoint (no idea what thats for anyway) and other components, along with the browser.

If you download JAMS plugins for Triton AIM you will get profile editting. I am in the middle of updating JAMS for Beta 5 triton. It will include profile editing just like we did in JAMS 1.5. You can read all about JAMS (written by myself and other AOL engineers) and what is coming in triton and JAMS at my blog:
